Raphael

Raphael Sanzio (usually just referred to by his first name) was born in 1483 in Umbria. His works evolved to be examples of grace and perfection, and he went on to become one of the greatest architects and painters of the High Renaissance period.

Leonardo da Vinci

His most famous works are the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper, and his drawing of the Vitruvian Man is regarded as a cultural icon. Da Vinci has spurred recent debate, with Dan Brown's the publication of The Da Vinci Code, a book which, amongst other things, looks at and analyses the mystery behind the painting of the Mona Lisa, linking it to much larger conspiracies. While the Mona Lisa itself is housed in the Louvre in Paris, an Italy holiday will give you insight into the world in which it was created, as well as the opportunity to see some of Da Vinci's other works.

Michelangelo

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonorroti Simoni was born in 1475 in Caprese, near Tuscany. His life led him from Caprese to Florence as a young boy, and Rome as an adult. He lived for a while near the church of Santa Maria di Loreto, where he is rumoured to have fallen in love with the marquise of Pescara, Vittoria Colonna. On holiday in Rome, you can book a luxury Italy hotel, the perfect base from which to explore the history and genius of Michelangelo.

His two most famous works are the Statue of David and the Sistine Chapel Ceiling. Both were produced around the same time, with the completion of the fantastic marble statue being in 1804, and began work on the Sistine Chapel in 1805. п»їGreat Gifts For Busy, (Hyper)Active Kids

Is your child, like mine, busy, active, and can never sit still?  Do a lot of the toys he gets for Christmas or Haunukah get played with once (if at all) and then never used again?  In today's economy you don't want to waste money on gifts your child won't enjoy or use.  This year you can be more strategic and thoughtful about the gifts you purchase if you think about what your child will really use and enjoy.  Here, in no particular order, are my "gift picks," for busy, (hyper)active kids.  Some of these are appropriate for younger children, while others are better suited for older kids.
• Indoor Trampoline - you know, the small one you can put in your basement.  Get the kids off the couch and bed and no one gets hurt!
• Jump ropes - again, use 'em in the basement, or driveway.  You CAN jump rope in a snowsuit!
• Pogo stick - just be sure to get a helmet.
• Gift certificates to local indoor playspace, sports comlex or ski slope/sledding park. This is a great gift idea for grandparents, aunts/uncles (especially the "cool" ones).
• Marble runs - the woodens ones are best.  Drop the marbles in and watch them go!
• Water wheel - OK I have no idea what this is really called.  If you come to my office you know what I am talking about.  Water and some form of colored oil in a clear plastic container.  If you tip the water wheel up, the soil spills toward the bottom and spins a wheel inside, tip it again and the wheel turns the other way.  Let me know if you know the name of this thing or if you can find an example for me to show folks.  I call this my "unofficial ADHD detetor".  Every kid or adult with ADHD can't put this thing down!п‚ пЂ 
• Lava lamp -   Same concept as water wheel.  Moving liquid seems to be soothing and entertaining to hyperactive kids.
• Tickets to a loud, raucus stadium event -   In our family it is Monster Jam (Monster Trucks).  Your kids may like something different.  This is an "if you can't beat 'em join 'em gift.  The kids are going to yell and shout so you may as well get them out of the house and bring them where screaming is acceptable and they can be with their own peeps (other hyperactive kids).
• A homemade gift certificate to go sledding, build a snowman, bake cookies, see a movie, go shopping with YOU -   This can be the best gift of all.  Just make sure you follow through and make good on the certificate later on.

2.  Share a house or apartment with other people.
Renting alone as a student is a great expense. So try to find a cheap apartment and suggest your friends or university mates to move in together and split the renting costs – it can save you much money, as well as give the good company and help at the same time. But be careful when signing a lease agreement, as there might be additional costs like security deposits, paying upfront for a couple of months, etc.
3. Cut your bills
Now when you’re living away from your parents’ house all alone it’s high time to start paying attention to the bills you pay. Save money and the environment at the same time by cutting down on your electricity usage, that means turn off the lights during the day and when you are not at home and unplug all electronic devices you’re not using at the moment and you’ll see the difference in your electricity bill at the end of the month.
You can also save some money on your phone bills. Revise your phone plan, maybe it has some features that you don't use or could live without, or maybe there are cheaper plans available. Try to use free video chat software, like Skype or Facetime, for long calls. Besides, video chatting gives you more intimacy using both audio and visual channels of communication. 
4. Save on your transport cost
You can use public transport instead of going by car sometimes. It saves you much money on gas and costs of car maintenance, and it’s also an environment-friendly decision. And it’s always cheaper to get a commuter pass instead of single rides if you often go by bus or by train.
Or there’s even a better idea – ride a bike! This will cut your transportation fees and improve your health at the same time.
5. Find student discounts
One of the best things about being a student is, of course, having various student discounts.  As a student, you can get a discount on almost anything, from books and clothes in stores to tickets in theaters and cinemas or museums. Many local fitness centers and swimming pools also offer student discounts, so do your research first and don’t hesitate to ask for it if it’s not advertised openly. Maybe you’ll be lucky to be the first ☺
6. Travel wisely
A list of all the ways how to save money on traveling can be really endless. But even if you put a little effort, that can make some huge savings in the end.
Rule number one – always try to plan your trip in advance. The longer in advance your buy plane, train, or bus tickets, the more likely they will be at a lower price.
Then, look for any concession fares or discounts for students, as many travel agencies might offer you good variants at attractive prices.
Don’t forget to check out all the options available to you and compare between all different companies offering tickets, never pick up the first option that came to your eyes. Use different online services like Skyscanner or Kayak when searching for the best options at the lowest prices.
7. Open the world of swapping
Looking for a new computer or TV-set, book or movie, sofa or coffee table? Don’t rush to the nearest store to buy it. You’d better try and look into swapping instead! This new trend allows you to free your space a little by getting rid of something you no longer need or want, as well as get something in return and save money. You can start with friends and relatives and then go online. Besides, this is a good way to cut down your expenses on textbooks!
